醋酸酐；無水醋酸

acetic anhydride僅可翻作醋酸酐，不可翻作無水醋酸。 acetic anhydride雖然英文字義上很像無水醋酸，但無水醋酸是glacial acetic acid，又稱冰醋酸；無水乙酸。醋酸酐和無水醋酸的化學式不同，反應性也不同，在化學領域用途也大不相同。 一般醋酸是含水分的，如果含水率低於1%則稱為無水醋酸，又稱冰醋酸，純度較高，所以acetic anhydride常常被誤以為無水醋酸，但無水醋酸應翻為glacial acetic acid(冰醋酸)。醋酸與無水醋酸的化學式皆為CH3COOH，僅水分的差異。 醋酸酐的化學式為(CH3CO)2O，由二個醋酸脫水而得，故易與空氣中的水分發生水解，還原成醋酸。醋酸酐是製作毒品的反應物之一，故被列為先驅化學品受到管制，與水醋酸差異甚大。
